Planning an Apartment Move: Buildings, Access, and Timing
Coordinate the building details that can affect an otherwise straightforward local move.
In This Guide
An apartment move involves more than two street addresses. The right building, unit, entrance, parking arrangement, and carrying route help turn the request into a workable plan. Give us those details for both the place you are leaving and the place you are entering.
Confirm the building arrangements
Ask the relevant property contact about elevator reservations, move-in or move-out windows, entry procedures, and loading locations. Share the arrangements with us before the date is confirmed. Put the Property / Management Company in the optional form field when it helps coordinate the work.
Explain the carrying route
Include the floor and actual flights of stairs, elevator access, parking distance, and any tight doors or landings. Under our hourly option, access helps estimate time; it is not a separate labor charge per step or floor. The agreed crew and billable time, subject to the minimum, determine hourly labor.
Separate belongings from removal items
Make one list for items being delivered and another for anything you want removed for disposal. Do not assume a move includes an apartment trash-out or cleaning. If management is arranging removal of contents, authorization and the exact disposal scope need to be clear.
Keep timing realistic
Share your preferred date and any building deadlines, then wait for the scope and schedule to be confirmed. A submitted work order requests review; it does not reserve a date. Tell us about keys, additional stops, or changes that could affect access.
Start with the moving form. For a management-led unit turnover rather than transporting a resident’s belongings, use the apartment trash-out guide and property service.
