Dumpsters
Where Can a Dumpster Go? A Placement and Access Checklist
Prepare photos and site details so delivery and pickup can be planned before the truck arrives.
In This Guide
The intended parking spot is only part of a dumpster placement plan. The truck also needs a workable approach, room to deliver, and access when the container is ready to leave. Send photos before treating a driveway, enclosure, or shared lot as an approved location.
Show the approach and the spot
A useful photo set includes the entrance from the street, the route through the property, and the proposed container location. Mention gates, narrow turns, slopes, surface concerns, parked cars, and overhead obstructions. Include the complete address and a site contact who can answer access questions.
Container dimensions are not truck clearances
Our 20- and 33-yard roll-offs are approximately 16 feet long and 8 feet wide. Their approximate heights are 4 and 7 feet. Those figures describe the containers; they are not a promise that a truck can deliver within that exact footprint. We review the actual approach and placement before confirming.
Coordinate a shared property
- Identify who may approve the location.
- Coordinate resident or contractor parking around delivery and pickup.
- Keep doors, necessary access routes, and collection areas usable.
- Provide gate instructions and the correct entrance.
- Tell us if site conditions or access will change during the rental.
If the location involves public space or an approval question, have the relevant owner or authority confirm what is permitted. We do not treat a photo or general guide as permission to place equipment there.
Plan pickup before the container is full
A location that works on delivery day can become obstructed later. Keep the agreed retrieval route available and let us know about changes. Review the rental period, pickup arrangements, material limits, and loading instructions in your quote. See how delivery and pickup fit together, or return to the size guide.
