What Can Go in the Load? Items to Check Before Loading
Tell us about special items and heavy or unknown material before mixing it into a hauling or dumpster load.
In This Guide
Do not rely on the word “junk” to describe everything in a load. Furniture, ordinary debris, appliances, liquids, and unusually heavy material can require different decisions. Simply confirms acceptance for the actual job before you load; this guide is a request checklist, not a blanket accepted-material list.
Items our site specifically asks you to flag
- Appliances.
- Tires and batteries.
- Liquids, chemicals, and unidentified containers.
- Unusually heavy materials.
- Anything that may need special handling.
Send clear descriptions and safely taken photos. Do not open, combine, or move unknown material just to get a better picture. If an item cannot be included, it needs a separate plan rather than being hidden inside an ordinary load.
Keep different parts of the project identifiable
For a property cleanout, distinguish furniture, bagged contents, outside debris, and items still awaiting management approval. For renovation work, identify the materials being removed instead of describing the whole load as construction debris. Changes to the material can change the equipment, acceptance, and quote.
Open space does not remove loading limits
Even approved material is subject to the agreed container capacity, weight limits, and loading instructions. Tell us if you expect a dense or heavy load. Read why volume and weight differ before treating a space selection as an unlimited disposal allowance.
Get the exceptions written down
Ask the quote to identify excluded materials, special-item handling, applicable extra charges, and what to do if you discover something unexpected. For crew-loaded hauling or a dumpster rental, a quick acceptance conversation before loading is more useful than finding a problem at pickup.
